Treehouse’s Brave the Shave Fundraiser, sponsored by the UC Santa Cruz Genomics Institute

Honors children being treated for cancer And those who have lost their battle. Some of those taking part know a friend or a family member who has been impacted by the disease. UC Santa Cruz has a pediatric cancer research group called the Treehouse Cancer Initiative We get some of our funding from St. Baldrick’s organization, and that’s why we’re here to give back to St. Baldrick’s and raise money for the pediatric cancer research that they fund. I have a family friend Robin who lost her son Keeton when he was five And she’s been doing advocacy for this foundation and other ones in the area for the past twenty something years. And so yeah, just knowing Robin is huge inspiration to me. The goal was to raise ten thousand dollars. This is the third year in a row that there has been a fundraising effort to help the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.

  1. We love how the UC Santa Cruz community rallies to support #CancerResearch —like student Juliet Hicks who shaved her head last fall to raise awareness & 💵 to defeat pediatric cancer. Please #Give2UCSC today (2.27.19) to show children with cancer you care! http://c-fund.us/j9n
